Panel Discussion season 2, episode 1 Left To Right Top To Bottom
This comic strip was created to help teach about the conventions of comic book layouts and story telling.
Comics are made up of lots of drawings in little boxes. These boxes are called ‘panels.’ In order to follow the story, you need to read the panels from left to right, and then start a new line on the left again; in just the same way as you would read the words and sentences in a normal book. The comic strip below does not follow this rule, can you see how breaking the convention makes the comic more difficult to read.
